Austin City Council confirms Lisa Davis as next police chief (Austin American-Statesman)
Lisa Davis is officially the next chief of the Austin Police Department after the City Council confirmed her appointment in a special meeting on Tuesday.
Davis, an assistant chief with the Cincinnati Police Department, will be the Austin Police Department's 11th chief and the second woman to lead the department permanently.
City Manager T.C. Broadnax announced on Friday he had selected Davis to be the next police chief. The decision was between Davis and Jeffrey Norman, chief of the Milwaukee Police Department… (LINK TO FULL STORY)
