WilCo Judge Gravell resigns to take SBA position in Trump administration
Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell resigned on Tuesday morning to take a position with the Trump administration as the Region 6 advocate for the U.S. Small Business Administration's office of advocacy.
The region covers the states of New Mexico, Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Gravell announced his resignation at the county Commissioners Court meeting.
The Commissioners Court will be calling a special meeting on March 14 to discuss the process of the search for a new judge.
Under Texas law, the County Judge serves as chief executive officer of the county and is involved in almost all aspects of county government, including preparing the county budget and presiding over Commissioners Court
